The assets required to create such an exquisite bag were not only the precious stones and metals, but also the skilful artisans, namely 10 of them, who worked on the bag for nearly 8,800 hours before it was completed. If this is not the shear definition of luxury we do not know what is.

Other expensive, lush bags, which follow in the footsteps of the 1001 Nights Diamond Purse are the Hermes bag created by Ginza Tanaka, a Japanese designer, and sold in 2008 for $1.9 million (the bag is decorated with 2,000 diamonds and its finish is so luxurious that parts of the bags, the diamond strap for example, can be used separately as jewelry!), the Chanel Diamond Forever Handbag, or precisely 13 handbags each worth $261,000 and decorated with 334 diamonds and 18 carat white gold and the ever famous Lana Marks Cleopatra Bags created annually – only one item per year – and sold for roughly $250,000.

But let’s get real for a moment – spending hundreds of dollars on precious handbags is a bit extravagant, unless you can really afford it. Instead of the expensive big fashion brands try smaller, cult European brands, which you can find at their websites. One of the biggest advantages of these less known designer handbags is that they are just as rare and memorable as the most exquisite fashion bags, so they are the perfect option if you want to be noticeable, but you cannot afford the real luxury. And who knows, maybe one day you will save enough to buy that diamond bag.
